Meet wonderful Winnie! Winnie is an almost 2-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix. She's still a bit of a pup, but she is very well-behaved. She doesn't get into much, although she does occasionally pick things up with her mouth, so you'll need to keep an eye on her. She's so gentle that she'll happily let you take them away.Winnie weighs 61 pounds, is house-trained, and a crate champion. She knows "sit," "down," and "leave it," and is currently working on "stay." She could use a little more practice on a leash, as she tends to pull when she's excited to sniff or see other dogs. This friendly girl loves just about everyone! She's a wonderful companion who loves being close to her people and happily demands attention and belly rubs. Although she is completely crate-trained, she'd prefer a family where someone is home more often than not.Winnie would thrive with an active family that includes a fur sibling and/or human sibling to help her play and burn off energy. She was raised with young children and loves them. She has not been cat-tested, but she does seem interested in chasing bunnies and especially birds. As a mix of two high-energy working breeds, Winnie needs about 1.5-2 hours of moderate to intense exercise each day. She's also able to relax and entertain herself, but she benefits from plenty of mental stimulation through sniffing, puzzle toys, training, and enrichment activities. A large fenced yard where she can run would be ideal.Winnie enjoys shopping trips to Lowe's, Home Depot, Dick's Sporting Goods, and, of course, pet stores. She loves her toys, especially squeaky balls, and sometimes she'll even bring one back and drop it so you can throw it again! She is very trusting of her people and is not possessive of her food, treats, toys, or Kong. She also loves to chew. Winnie is a heavy year-round shedder and will need daily brushing. At night, Winnie sleeps quietly in her crate without a peep and patiently waits for you to wake up. She's an athletic beauty who loves to sprint and gallop, but she's equally happy being petted and brushed. She enjoys watching the world from the window and rarely barks-even at the mailman! She isn't afraid of much, except the hair dryer (thunderstorms and the Roomba don't bother her).Winnie is an adaptable, easygoing sweetheart and an exceptionally good girl, especially for being so young. She deserves an adventure-filled life with a loving family that can give her the time, activity, and companionship she needs. She'll make one lucky family incredibly happy. Could that family be yours?
