Adoption Process
From our website: "The first step in all our adoptions is to complete an adoption application. Once the application is reviewed and approved, a meet and greet time will be scheduled. If the dog and the adopter are a good match, we finalize the adoption. We often get several applications for the same dog. Although many of the applicants could be a great home, we have to make the hard choice as to which "great home" would be the very best home for that particular dog. Our adoption fees vary depending on the dog. All our adult dogs are spayed/neutered, are up to date on vaccines, and micro chipped. All have had a medical health check-up, and any individual requirements will be stated in writing. Our puppies have all had a wellness vet visit, first vaccines, de-wormed and micro chipped. Veterinary care, feeding and grooming throughout the dog's life is a major expense of owning a dog. Please consider that when thinking about adopting a dog for life. Our thanks to the over 2000 families who have adopted one of our wonderful dogs and given them their very own Forever Home!" In 2023, the adoption fee for puppies is $400, adults is $350, and seniors age 8+ is $250. Our contract states: 1. _____ This is a legally binding contract between _____________________________________ and WELFARE FOR ANIMALS GUILD (hereinafter known as WAG). I/We agree to accept the dog known as ____________________ from WAG, the dog’s current legal guardian, under the conditions listed below. 2. _____ I/We agree to return the dog to WAG if for any reason I/We can no longer care for the dog. A lawsuit will be filed against any person(s) found using dogs for any other purpose (guard dog, animal research, exploitation) or altering the dog’s appearance (e.g..tail or ear docking) 7. _____ I/We agree to keep an “ID TAG” on the dog at all times, and to keep microchip information up to date. 8. _____ I/We understand that if the dog is ever lost and reclaimed by WAG I/We must reclaim the animal within 48 hours.
