SAMBA

Samba has been in our care since 4/17 and is having a hard time adjusting to shelter life. The stress has affected both his appetite and weight, and he’s currently on behavior medications to help him cope. But underneath the scared shelter cat is a really sweet boy. When you visit Samba, he comes out from under his Kuranda bed for pets, gives headbutts, and happily melts into neck scratches. Honestly, he barely even looks like the same cat from his intake photo anymore. He’s starting to show us who he really is. He’s also shown curiosity toward other cats. He politely greeted his meowing neighbor, Oso, nose-to-nose through the kennel, which gave us hope he may enjoy feline companionship. Full disclosure: he did go to a foster home with another cat, and the foster reported he acted like a bit of a “bully,` but we're not writing him off as a cat-social cat just yet. What everyone does agree on is this: “Samba is a wonderful cat to people… He really is adorable.” Samba needs someone willing to look past the stress of the shelter and see the affectionate, funny, loving cat underneath.
