Breed: Terrier Mix

Healthy & Adoption-Ready
Personality, Breed Info & Expectations
Egbert is a sweet, loving young dog with a friendly personality and a heart full of affection. At just over a year old, he has the perfect balance of playful energy and growing maturity. He enjoys spending time with people, receiving attention, and being included in everyday family life.
Egbert is eager to bond with his family and would thrive in a home that can provide companionship, structure, and continued guidance as he continues to mature. His affectionate nature and happy spirit make him a wonderful companion for an individual, couple, or family looking for a loyal best friend.
As a Terrier Mix, Egbert is likely to be intelligent, curious, and eager to learn. Terrier mixes are often adaptable, people-oriented dogs that enjoy being involved in activities and spending time with their families. They thrive with positive reinforcement, consistency, and opportunities for both physical and mental enrichment.
Egbert would thrive in a home prepared for:
Daily exercise and walks
Continued training and guidance
Mental stimulation and enrichment
Positive socialization experiences
Structure, consistency, and routine
A lifelong commitment to his emotional and physical well-being
Young dogs require time, patience, training, supervision, and financial commitment as they continue developing into well-balanced adult companions.
Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
Many rescue dogs come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue.
Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should expect to continue training and support after adoption.
Egbert will benefit from:
Positive reinforcement training
Daily structure and routine
Continued socialization and exposure
Exercise and mental stimulation
Patience, consistency, and supervision
Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule:
3 days to decompress
3 weeks to learn your routine
3 months to fully feel at home
With patience, guidance, and commitment, dogs like Egbert blossom into deeply loyal lifelong companions.
Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes training, daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, financial responsibility, and emotional commitment throughout every stage of life.
Egbert will need:
Daily walks, exercise, and interaction
Continued training and guidance
Routine veterinary care and wellness exams
Preventative care including flea, tick, and heartworm prevention
Proper nutrition and weight management
Mental stimulation and enrichment
A safe, stable, indoor living environment
Consistent veterinary care, emotional stability, proper nutrition, and daily companionship are all essential to helping Egbert thrive in his future home.
Egbert is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
