Cappy's life began with an act of kindness after an act of abandonment.
He and his littermates were left on the side of a road with no one to care for them. Too young to survive on their own, they depended on each other as passing cars drove by. Thankfully, they were discovered by rescuers before it was too late and brought to safety, where they finally received food, medical care, and the love every puppy deserves.
Today, Cappy has left that difficult beginning behind and has grown into a happy, playful, and affectionate puppy who is ready to find a family of his own.
Cappy has a fun-loving personality and enjoys making every day an adventure. He loves playing with toys, romping around with other dogs, and spending time with people. One of his favorite things is bath time-while many dogs avoid getting wet, Cappy happily enjoys splashing in the water and doesn't mind a good bath at all. His playful attitude and loving heart make him a joy to be around.
He gets along well with other dogs and would enjoy having a canine companion to play with, though he would also be happy as the center of attention in a loving home.
As a Black Mouth Cur / Shepherd Mix, Cappy is expected to grow into an intelligent, loyal, and active companion. Black Mouth Curs are known for their devotion, confidence, and eagerness to work with their families, while Shepherds are admired for their intelligence, loyalty, and trainability. Together, these breeds create a wonderful companion for an active family willing to provide exercise, guidance, and plenty of love.
Cappy would thrive in a home that offers:
Daily walks and outdoor adventures
Plenty of playtime and interactive activities
Positive reinforcement training
Mental enrichment through puzzle toys and games
Continued socialization with people and other dogs
A consistent daily routine
A lifetime of love, patience, and commitment
Cappy's story could have ended very differently, but thanks to his rescue, he now has the opportunity to grow up knowing what it feels like to be loved. All that's missing is a forever family to share that journey with.
Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
Like all puppies, Capy is still learning about the world around him. His new family should expect normal puppy behaviors such as chewing, teething, learning house manners, and discovering new experiences every day.
Capy is eager to learn and will thrive with patient guidance and positive reinforcement. Starting training early will help him grow into a confident, well-mannered adult dog.
Please remember the 3-3-3 Rule:
3 Days to decompress and begin feeling safe
3 Weeks to learn your household routine
3 Months to fully settle into family life
Capy will benefit from:
Positive reinforcement training
House-training and consistent routines
Daily exercise and supervised play
Continued socialization with people and other dogs
Mental stimulation through enrichment toys and games
Plenty of love, patience, and encouragement
With the right guidance, Capy has all the potential to become an incredible lifelong companion.
Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
Bringing home a puppy is a lifelong commitment that includes proper veterinary care, training, exercise, and companionship.
As part of responsible pet ownership, Capy will need:
Completion of his puppy vaccination schedule and routine wellness examinations
Neutering if it has not already been completed, following your veterinarian's recommendation
Monthly flea, tick, heartworm, and parasite prevention
A nutritious diet that supports healthy growth and development
Daily physical exercise and mental enrichment
Continued obedience training and socialization
A safe, loving indoor home where he is treated as a valued member of the family
Because Capy is still growing, strenuous repetitive exercise and excessive jumping should be limited until his joints have fully developed. We also recommend scheduling a wellness visit with your veterinarian shortly after adoption to establish care and ensure he continues to thrive.
