Many rescue dogs come from uncertain beginnings and may not have had structure, socialization, or training before arriving at rescue.

Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Young dogs especially still require continued guidance, structure, patience, and supervision as they mature.

The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should expect to continue training and support after adoption.

Adopting a young dog means being prepared for:

Potty training reinforcement and occasional accidents

Leash training and obedience work

Jumping and playful puppy behavior

Continued socialization and confidence-building

Daily exercise, structure, and supervision

Routine veterinary care

Financial commitment throughout the dog's lifetime
