At just a few months old, Mikonos is still learning and growing every day. He enjoys exploring, playing, and staying engaged with his surroundings while also loving affection and companionship from his humans.
As a Kelpie / Carolina Dog mix, Mikonos may show traits such as intelligence, athleticism, alertness, and strong curiosity. Kelpies are known for being active and eager to learn, while Carolina Dog traits often bring awareness, adaptability, and independence.

Training, Adjustment & What to Expect
Many rescue dogs come from very different backgrounds. Some may have previously lived in homes, while others may have come from the streets, overcrowded shelters, neglect situations, or environments where they had little structure or guidance.
Because of this, most rescue dogs arrive with only basic training at best, and some may have had no formal training at all. Even puppies require significant training, supervision, and socialization as they grow.
The rescue environment itself also does not always allow for extensive one-on-one training. While we work hard to provide safety, structure, socialization, and basic guidance, adopters should be prepared to continue training and support after adoption.
Mikonos will need:
Positive reinforcement training
Frequent potty breaks and supervision
Patience and consistency during puppy stages
Socialization with people, sounds, and environments
Guidance through teething and chewing phases

3 weeks to learn your routine
3 months to fully feel at home

Owner Responsibilities & Veterinary Care
Owning a dog is a lifelong commitment that includes daily exercise, companionship, routine veterinary care, training, mental stimulation, and financial responsibility.
Mikonos will need:
Daily interaction, exercise, and engagement
Continued puppy training and socialization
Routine wellness exams and preventative veterinary care
A safe, stable, indoor living environment
As a growing puppy, he will also need continued monitoring of his growth, nutrition, and development.
Mikonos is an indoor family dog and is not to be chained or left outside.
