Meet Ember

Ember is a female Chihuahua mix, about a year old, with a gentle heart and a quiet spirit. She's dog- and cat-friendly and truly happiest when she has other dogs around to show her the ropes and make her feel safe.

Ember is shy and very sensitive, especially in new surroundings. She's not the kind of dog who will run up for attention right away - she needs a patient, compassionate home that understands trust takes time. Ember prefers to keep to herself at first and will always choose to approach people on her own terms. When she does, she may offer the tiniest kisses, but her biggest tail wags are saved for toys and her fellow four-legged friends.

What really makes Ember light up? Chasing balls, playing fetch, carrying around a favorite bone, and being near other dogs. She's playful in her own way and very food-motivated, which helps as she continues to build confidence. Ember has made progress in her foster home, but she's still learning that people can be safe - slow, gentle interactions and consistency are key for her.
