Meet Kona Kona is a stunning 4-year-old (born 1/20/2021) purebred female Rottweiler with a sweet heart and a beautiful, classic Rottweiler look. Originally from Italy, Kona comes from a long line of champions, though the paperwork was unfortunately lost when her family relocated. She was previously owned by a military family and came back to the U.S. when her owner retired. Kona is spayed and has completed a board-and-train program with Paw Creek Dog Training. Her trainer is even offering a free lesson with adoption so Kona can continue to grow into the best version of herself. She is a total love bug with people and grew up around children, doing well with kids between ages 2 and 6. Kona is also cat-friendly! While Kona can walk near other dogs without reacting, she is not dog-friendly when up close, so she would do best in a home without other dogs. Kona was surrendered due to her previous owners' divorce and their new living situations, which did not allow Rottweilers. She thrives with ongoing training and attention, and she's looking for a patient, loving home where she can be the center of your world. All of our dogs benefit from ongoing training, and Kona is no exception - she's eager to learn and loves working with her people. If you're ready for a loyal, affectionate, and intelligent companion, Kona might just be the perfect fit.Adoption Process:If you are interested in adopting one of our fun-loving, "not-so-rotten" Rotties, you will be asked to fill out our adoption application which allows us to get to know you better. This ensures the dog you are interested in is a good fit for your family and lifestyle. After reviewing your answers, if we feel the dog you are interested in is not a match for your family, we may recommend a different Rottweiler companion. Once we determine which dog is best for you, we will schedule a meeting at their current home, where they feel most comfortable and act naturally. We require a home check to ensure each dog is going to a safe environment. To finalize the process, an adoption contract must be signed. We also require a rehoming fee, which is typically $500 for most adults and $350 for seniors (6 years and older) or Rottweiler mixes of any age (excluding puppies). Fees for puppies fluctuate depending on the investment required for the litter and whether they are purebred or a mix. These funds are necessary for our organization to continue rehoming Rottweilers in need. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, and have tested negative for heartworms. Each dog comes with a collar and a leash. We also address any injuries or illnesses they had upon arrival or developed in foster care; any such conditions will be fully disclosed to the adopter prior to the adoption. Please Note: In almost all cases, we do not adopt to out-of-state applicants.
