Adoption Process
Adopters are required to complete a three page adoption application/agreement and within the form, adopters must list their veterinarian and current pets. All pets (cats, dogs, horses and ferrets) in the home or on the property must be current on the rabies vaccine before an application is approved. Adopters must also provide information about their living status - if they rent or own as some rental properties do not allow animals, specific breeds or species, and have gender or weight restrictions. Golden Belt Humane Society's adoptions fees are for fully vetted cats and dogs: Dogs $150.00 - Spay/Neuter - Heartworm Test - Age appropriate vaccines (arvo/distemper, bordatella, rabies) - Dewormed - Microchipped - Monthly preventatives Cats $40.00 - Spay/Neuter - Felv/Fiv Tested - Age appropriate feline vaccines (including rabies) - Dewormed - Monthly preventatives.
