Hi, my name is SHYLO and below is some info about me:Breed: Whippet/Shepard mixAge: 3-1/2 yrsGender: maleWeight: 19 kg (41 lb)Country of origin: UAEHighlights: sweet natured, gentle, affectionate, well-mannered, very people friendlyRemarkable, well-mannered, and sweet-natured are the words my rescuers use to describe me.Being a unique Whippet and Shepherd mix, I carry a blend of grace and loyalty,My journey began in the harsh deserts of the UAE, where I was one of 1,200 dogs struggling to survive in a shelter with no electricity or resources.Despite those heartbreaking conditions, my gentle spirit caught the eye of a kind worker who moved me to the city for a better chance.After a hopeful foster period with an Italian family and a subsequent stay with my current rescuer, I have shown that I can blend beautifully into a family with children and house help.While I've had many transitions, each one has only proven how much love I have to give.Affection and a people-friendly nature are my greatest strengths.I am truly a joy to be around, though I am sensitive to loud or sudden external sounds.When startled, my first instinct is to find a 'safe zone' rather than show aggression.While I am generally fine with other dogs, personalities can sometimes clash, as seen with my previous Boxer housemate, so I would likely thrive most as your one-and-only 'fur child.'Providing me with a secure spot to retreat to and some patience with doorbells will help me settle into a confident, happy boy.Stability and affection are what I crave most.A family with 'two-legged siblings' (children) would be wonderful, as I've already shown how well I connect with them.While I'm fairly good on a leash, I can still be on high alert outside and may pull occasionally, so continued training will be a great bonding activity for us.If you can offer a heart full of love and a safe sanctuary for me to call my own, I promise to bring endless happiness into your life.Energy Level: ModerateI get along with:Dogs: yesCats: unknownKids: unknown. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. Bordetella is not given, as that has not been a problem in the Middle East.[TURKEY] Dogs from Turkey receive a 4D SNAP test to include Leishmania, Heartworm, Ehrlichia, & Anaplasma, as well as Giardia, Parvo, Corona & Distemper.
