Rowen (long-term resident/sponsored fee)

Rowen originally came to us on 4/23/2022 from our friends at the Rescue Network after he was rescued from a reservation in South Dakota. He is a pit bull/German shepherd mix who is now around 5 years old. He has always been a volunteer favorite! He was in a home for some months in 2025, but it did not work out, even though his adopter tried very hard with him. Rowen bonded very closely to her and was not tolerant of her husband or outsiders. However, we are not giving up on Rowen as we do believe that his perfect fit is out there, somewhere. His adoption fee is sponsored.

Rowen has had basic training and enjoys a good, brisk walk and playing fetch. He's looking for an adult only home without a lot of foot traffic. He needs someone who is willing and able to provide him with the exercise he needs, along with consistent training and boundaries. He is strong and active. He's a happy and outgoing dog with a slight mischievous streak that is kinda endearing. He needs to be the only pet in the home. He will require regular exercise to keep him happy and well balanced.

Secure fenced yard required.

We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South.

We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
