Hi⦠Iâm a little Dachshund, and Iâll admit something right away. I can be a bit nervous when I meet new people. The world feels big sometimes, especially here in the shelter where there are lots of sounds, smells, and strangers coming and going. When someone new walks up to me, I might hang back at first or watch you carefully. Iâm not trying to be difficult... I just need a little time to feel safe. But if youâre patient with me⦠if you sit nearby, speak gently, and let me come to you when Iâm ready⦠youâll see my real self start to shine.Once I warm up, Iâm incredibly loyal. I like staying close to my person. Having a stable home and a family who understands that I need a little reassurance would mean the world to me. Shelter life is a bit overwhelming for a sensitive dog like me. I think Iâd really blossom somewhere quiet and loving, where I can build trust at my own pace and learn that the world isnât so scary after all. All I really need is patience, kindness, and a family willing to give me lots of love. If you give me the time I need, I promise Iâll give you something very special in return; a loyal little heart that will always feel safest right by your side.
