Koda is a 6-month-old Heeler mix who tends to be overlooked here at the shelter. While many of the other pups are bouncing off the walls trying to get attention, Koda quietly sits in the corner of his kennel watching the world go by. The noise and chaos of shelter life just isn't his thing. But behind that shy little demeanor is an incredibly sweet and affectionate puppy.Koda just needs a little time. Once he's given the chance to properly acclimate and feel safe, his gentle personality starts to shine through. He loves being close to his people, soaking up quiet affection, and simply relaxing beside someone he trusts. Life hasn't always been easy for this sweet boy, and the busy shelter environment can be overwhelming for him.Koda would do wonderful in a home with a confident canine friend. He absolutely loves other dogs and having a playful buddy helps bring him out of his shell and build his confidence. What Koda really dreams of is a calm, patient home where he can take things at his own pace, learn that the world is safe, and just hang out with his people. And here's the truth we see time and time again...it's often the quiet, shy dogs sitting in the corner of their kennels that blossom into the most amazing, loyal, confident companions once someone gives them a chance. Koda just needs that chance. A little patience, a little love, and we know this sweet boy will become someone's very best friend.
