About This Dog
What WeRescue Scout knows about Athena
Athena is a gentle, young Great Pyrenees who thrives with other dogs and gets along well with kids—she'll do best in a home with a securely fenced yard in a cooler climate where she can roam safely and where her family can help her learn leash skills. She needs adopters ready for a large, long-coated dog who will shed significantly and has natural guardian instincts.
- Requires a fenced yard—breed will roam without one
- No leash training yet; needs patient work
- Heavy shedding; not suited to apartments
WeRescue Scout summarized this from the shelter's original listing and may include estimates. Please contact Cowboy Capital Pet Assistance League to confirm any details before adopting.

About Athena
Cowboy Capital Pet Assistance League
RescueWe are a rural rescue in Pipe Creek Texas. We have a nicely appointed outdoor kennel space with lots of land. We help with the overcrowding problem by taking in strays and pull off the euthanasia list to save dogs. We adopt locally in Texas and abroad to good homes. We then use a transporter to get them to their dream home if it is outside the state of Texas.
