Phillis is a 5-year-old, 23-pound Pomeranian, Papillon and Dachshund mix, we think, who is slowly discovering how wonderful life as a beloved family pet can be. Coming from a breeding background, many everyday experiences are still very new to her, so she approaches the world with a gentle and cautious curiosity.
While she may be shy at first, Phillis will quietly tiptoe over for pets and affection once she feels safe. Each day, her foster family sees more of her sweet personality emerges through extra tail wags, growing confidence, and gentle little kisses.
Phillis is still adjusting to the routines and activities of life in a home, but she continues to make progress every day. Phillis is completely unbothered around cats and would likely do best in a home with another confident, friendly dog to help her continue building confidence and learning that the world is a safe place. She would also do well with a patient family willing to let her blossom at his own pace.
Though still timid at times, Phillis has a loving heart and is beginning to truly enjoy affection and companionship. With time, patience, and kindness, she is sure to become a devoted little companion to a very lucky family
If you are interested in adopting Phillis, please submit an inquiry directly to Greater Charlotte SPCA by visiting charlottespca.org/adopt. The adoption amount is a suggested donation of $200 to $300 dollars based on the pet's age.
**Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **
