Meet Lucy, a stunning three year old Labrador Retriever and Shepherd mix who packs an absolute mountain of love into her compact, 43 pound frame. This affectionate girl lives for head pats, back scratches, and above all else, a good old fashioned belly rub! While she hasn't shared her current foster home with children, she has shown a gentle nature and whenever she is out and about in public. Lucy is a dog of simple pleasures; her perfect day includes a burst of backyard zoomies, a scenic neighborhood walk, a session with her favorite squeaky toys, and wrapping it all up by cuddling close on the couch.

Transitioning Lucy into her forever home will be a breeze, as she is already an expert house guest who is both fully house-trained and crate-trained. She currently lives in perfect harmony with a resident cat and other dogs, proving she can be a fantastic fit for a multi-pet household. When it comes to meeting new canine companions, Lucy just needs a little patience and a slow, careful introduction to help her feel secure. Once she knows she is safe, it doesn't take her long at all to let her guard down, initiate playtime, and become fast friends! **Because our rescue is composed entirely of volunteers, local applications will take precedence. We will accept out of town applications, but any family is responsible for coming to Charlotte to complete a meet and greet. All out of town applicants will also have to be willing to drive to Charlotte to pick up the pet as soon as they are approved to adopt. **
