Animal Profile: Taylor showed up on someone's property way out in Wapato with 9 puppies. The finder was not interested in feeding or keeping her or her puppies, and was threatening to let them starve. A rescue contact reached out for help as Mama and babies were left outside, exposed to the elements. We could not leave them to suffer, so they all hitched a ride to the PNW.
Foster Update:
Taylor is a smart, engaging, and affectionate girl who loves spending time with her people. She has excellent manners in the home - no counter surfing, she respects kitchen boundaries, and she's careful and aware around the toddler in her foster home.
While Taylor can share space with other dogs, she doesn't particularly enjoy their company and would be happiest as an only dog. She is house-trained and settles nicely in a solid-sided kennel. Taylor can be vocal when left alone, so she's best suited for a single-family home rather than an apartment.
She's looking for a family with a securely fenced yard and experience with large breeds. Due to her strong prey drive, she cannot be placed in a home with cats or small animals.
Adoption Info: Taylor's adoption fee is $575 which includes his neuter, core vaccinations Rabies and DPPV, microchip, and recent health check with a veterinarian. Adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization.
