Adorable puppy HOSS had his cherry eye repaired and is looking even more handsome! Hoss is a 7-8 month old cuddle bug. He's an easygoing guy who loves people, squeaky toys and treats. He loves human attention and has already learned to sit for treats. We're calling Hoss a Shargle -- he appears to be a Shar Pei/Beagle mix. He has the big wrinkly head and sturdy legs of a Shar Pei and the body of a black and tan beagle. At the vet's office he sat calmly while being poked and prodded. He'd fine with anything especially if yummy treats are involved. He's a bright boy who learns quickly and should be fun to train. Hoss is currently 24 pounds and is probably close to fully grown, we're estimating he'll be 30ish pounds when fully grown. He's dog friendly but we think he'd be fine as an only dog as long as he gets plenty of attention. Hoss came to us with his brother Brew who looks more like a beagle, Hoss definitely has a shar pei face. If you'd like to meet Hoss, please fill out a dog adoption application at

We are happy to arrange a private meet with an approved adopter. You can meet Hoss at our weekly adoption event, Saturday 11:30am-1:30pm at PetSmart Eastgate.
Our fully-vetted adoptable dogs go to prospective homes for a one-week trial period to make sure the dog and home are the right fit before an adoption is finalized. We only adopt dogs into homes where all current pets are spayed/neutered and current on vaccines and heartworm and flea and tick prevention. We do check veterinary references to make sure adopters are compliant with standard veterinary care. Our adoptable dogs are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm tested, dewormed and current on flea and tick and heartworm prevention.
