Nika has been through several changes in the last year and we hope this will be the last one she has to make. We are looking for a home who will devote themselves to helping her become the well-rounded dog she has hiding inside, and help her develop her personality to where she can be truly appreciated in a new home. After a four month adoption, she did come to us with a full set of insight and instructions which we're not going to share here. But which we will go over with individual applicants
who might be interested. Nika
came with an original name of Freya, and she had lived with many dogs in her first home before coming to us. One of her favorites was Rex, a 75 pound shepherd mix, and they got along very well
together. Many
times dogs
who come to us with suggestions
for placement have shown specific behaviors with certain dogs in the household which may
preclude their successful placement in that home, and yet in another home they would be absolutely fine. We want to give her every opportunity
to become a
well-rounded part of another household. We
highly recommend a home with one other dog, and a family who has a trainer already on standby ready to consult for issues. Turns out that this is a very smart dog, who wants to please, and she is willing to work her way to that standing. She's devoted to her human, and is willing to stay in the yard once she is shown the limits of how far she can go. She doesn't show any more issues than any other dogs that get adopted, so we are hoping that we can help her find just the right home as quickly as possible.
