Callie came to the shelter through nothing that she had done, after being left behind by a family member. We have become her biggest fan club, and have loved watching her grow in confidence as she has spent time with different volunteers, and has made friends with the staff members. Callie is superbly housetrained and has made herself welcome to our dog walkers of all ages. She prefers being an "only" dog, but has discovered she can peacefully walk near other dogs as long as they stay out of her face. She is not a "let's go to the dog park!" kind of girl, but rather one who would like to curl up with you on the sofa, or in front of a crackling campfire, so you can enjoy the evening together, after a leisurely walk around the neighborhood. Now that she has been spayed, Callie is no longer concerned about puppies (we think she may have had a couple litters in her past) and can focus on being your good girl. She is on track already, as she is calm, responds to treat training, and "sits" immediately when she is asked. She is so ready for a devoted home.
