Deysi is proof that even the most frightened cats can blossom when someone finally gives them the love and patience they deserve.

She came from a heartbreaking hoarding situation that was discovered after her owner passed away. More than 40 cats and kittens were left behind in a home that was quickly becoming unlivable and heavily infested with fleas. But Deysi's story was especially heartbreaking because she spent several months completely alone in a garage with no human or animal contact.

It's hard to imagine what those months must have been like, but despite everything, Deysi has discovered that people can be kind and that life can be wonderful. She is still a little skittish and is learning to fully trust, but once she realizes you're there to love her, her sweet personality shines through.

Deysi absolutely loves being petted. In fact, once you start, she'll keep coming back for more! She's so happy to finally have attention and affection that it's clear she knows she has been rescued and appreciates every bit of love she receives.

She's also learning how much fun it can be to be a cat. She is discovering toys and figuring out how to play with both her feline friends and the people around her. She does well with other cats and enjoys having their companionship as she continues to gain confidence.

Because Deysi is still building her confidence, she would not be comfortable in a home with young children or a lot of commotion. She needs a calm, understanding family with older, respectful children-ideally ages 13 and up-who will give her the space and patience she needs to feel safe. Once she trusts you, you'll discover just how affectionate this sweet girl can be.

Today, Deysi is one of the sweetest cats you'll ever meet. She's affectionate, gentle, and incredibly grateful for the second chance she's been given. All she needs now is a family willing to continue showing her that she is safe, loved, and finally home. She is looking for someone who will shower her with the love and affection she's missed for so long.
