Theia (pronounced Thay-a)

Theia (named after the Greek goddess of sight and vision) is quite a character. She came into foster the day she gave birth to two babies in the Trenton Animal Shelter. In her new foster home, she was an amazing mom. She was incredibly nurturing and barely took any time to care for herself. Theia's foster mom had to spend a great deal of time encouraging her to eat. This all changed after her babies were adopted (together) at the end of May. Now Theia plays with the other young resident and foster cats (one of her pals is foster Sasha) and loves to eat. She frequently demands food and attention, including hugs, in her rather screechy voice. She also likes to hang out with her foster mom while she works by draping herself over the back of her mom's chair. She was born with eyelids that never fully formed (we think this makes her look rather exotic), so she recently underwent cryoepilation, a procedure to remove eyelashes that would rub her corneas. For this we are grateful to the Schwarzman Animal Medical Center in New York City and their AMC to the Rescue program. We think Theia is about a year or year-and-a-half old.
