Meet Duckie! Duckie is a sweet 1‑year‑old Jack Russell who found his way to us after some disagreements with his littermate. Since arriving, he's shown us just how gentle and tenderhearted he really is. He can be a little shy at first, but every day he grows braver and more confident as he settles into his surroundings.Duckie has been cat tested and showed no negative reactions. He was also dog tested with a larger dog-he wasn't aggressive, just unsure. Because he's still learning how to feel confident around other dogs, he can go home with a canine companion, but they'll need to be calm, neutral, and respectful of his space. He does best with kids 12 and up, simply because fast movements and loud surprises can overwhelm him.If you're looking for a little shadow to follow you around, a gentle soul who just wants to feel safe and loved, Duckie might be your guy. He's a small duckling now, but with patience and kindness, he'll blossom into the loyal companion he's meant to be.Duckie's adoption fee is $175, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it's important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal's true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application:
