Meet Monk-a 6-year-old brindle bundle of energy with a soft spot for squeaky stuffies and a heart full of second chances. This handsome boy came to us as an owner surrender, and not long after arrival, we discovered he was heartworm positive. But Monk took it like a champ. After months of treatment and rest, Monk is now officially heartworm-free and ready to start his next chapter.Monk doesn't just love his stuffies-he needs them. He carries them around the yard like prized possessions, and having one in his mouth on walks actually helps him slow down, take a breath, and enjoy the world around him. With a toy by his side, Monk takes time to feel the breeze and smell the flowers-he's a little poetic like that. He's also a total cuddlebug. Whether he's snuggled up on the couch or leaning in for pets, Monk loves a good cuddle session with his favorite people.Monk is great with kids and does well with calm, well-rounded dogs who respect his energy. He'd thrive in a home that gives him the time, structure, and squeaky friends he needs to feel safe and loved.Monk's adoption fee is $125, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoptionPlease note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it's important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal's true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful. If you are interested in meeting any of our animals, we encourage you to first visit our website and submit an adoption application:
