You know those dogs that are so cute they almost do not look real? That's Ruger. This 27-pound beagle mix has the kind of face that belongs in a storybook illustration or printed on the front of a vintage children's novel. The floppy ears. The big round eyes. The little white stripe down his face. Somehow, he always looks both innocent and mildly concerned at the exact same time.If you looked up "cute dog" in the dictionary, we are fairly certain this would be the picture beside it.Ruger is playful, affectionate, and full of personality in the most lovable way. He loves stuffed toys, enjoys a good game of fetch, and is highly motivated by treats and attention. He has done well with other dogs and enjoys being part of the fun, whether that means romping around the yard or trotting beside you like your tiny woodland companion. And once the excitement is over? Ruger is more than happy to curl up beside his people for cuddles and well-earned relaxation.Potential future answer to: "What was the name of your childhood dog?"Ruger's adoption fee is $175, which helps support their medical care and preparation for adoption. Please note: All of our animals are spayed/neutered and up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations. Each pet also receives a behavioral assessment to help us better understand the type of home they may thrive in. However, it's important to remember that the results may not fully reflect an animal's true personality, as shelter and foster environments can be stressful.
