Meet Radio our 1 year old black German Shepherd who made his way to us as a stray. We are fairly certain that Radio was on his own for at least 3 weeks before he was caught by a good semeritin. Radio didn't know it yet but he was about to get a second chance at his young life. Entering our building limping and seeming to be in pain, he was unsure of the world around him. Clearly being let down by people in his past he was slow to trust. He eventually learned that all good things came from most people, fresh water, food, a clean warm place to sleep and most of all love. As he realized that he was now surrounded by people who cared about his future he started to open up and show us the dog he truly is, a fun loving boy who wants nothing more than attention from those who care for him. Radio is thriving here and wants all the pets all the time. He loves having tennis balls thrown for him but isn't always wanting to bring them back but we know he will catch on to that soon enough. Radio loves people of all ages! He is even starting to feel better as after his health exam we found that Radio is Lyme positive but no worries he is receiving the treatment he desperately needed to make his joints feel good again so he can play like a young shepherd should. His Lyme disease diagnosis is a good reminder to us all as to why monthly preventives are so important! Radio has been feeling so good he was able to meet one of our other dogs here at the shelter and while he wasn't sure at first if he could play he warmed up quickly and was all to happy to have a new friend. He did check in with his handler to make sure his play was ok and to receive positive feed back and then was all to happy to wrestle around! Radio would make a great addition to any home and could be just the dog for you, if your wanting to give a formally unsure dog the piece of mind of forever please stop in and meet Radio today. If you have a dog at home please bring them in as well so we can be sure that all dogs in the home want to share their space with Radio.Give the shelter a call at (574) 267-3008 or email them at
