Corbin is a 3-year-old Bichon Frise with the softest soul and the sweetest puppy-dog eyes. He's not the type to burst into a room demanding attention - Corbin prefers to quietly take it all in first, watching from a safe spot until he feels comfortable enough to join the fun.
Life can still feel a little overwhelming for him at times, so he's looking for a calm, patient home that will let him settle in at his own pace. Corbin absolutely needs another confident, friendly dog in the home. Other dogs are his security blanket, his teachers, and his biggest source of comfort. When he sees his canine friends relax, he quickly realizes the world might not be so scary after all.
Corbin can be timid with new people, loud noises, and sudden movements, so he needs a family that understands trust takes time. He doesn't want to be rushed, cornered, or scooped up before he's ready - but if you give him patience and kindness, you'll slowly see his personality start to bloom. And when it does? It's the sweetest thing.
Because Corbin is such a sensitive little guy, stressful situations like grooming can feel overwhelming for him. He may become very scared during handling and will do best with a patient groomer who understands shy, fearful dogs and is willing to move at his pace.
Corbin loves treats, snack time, cozy naps in sunny spots, and quietly following his people around once he feels safe. He's the kind of dog who may never be the life of the party, but he'll become your quiet little shadow and loyal companion.
Because fear can sometimes send him into "flight mode," Corbin will require a secure fenced yard for his safety.
Corbin has been waiting a long time for the right person to see him for who he is - not broken or difficult, just sensitive and deserving of patience. The family willing to give him that chance is going to discover an incredibly special little dog hiding beneath that shy exterior.
Please note that some of our dogs are obtained from shelters, surrendered to our care, or released from breeders. Each animal's bio is based on our experience of the animal within our care, an educated guess based on physical characteristics, temperament and information shared. Some of the animals come from situations where they are lacking experience in a home and confidence in humans. In turn, they require another companion dog and/or a fenced in yard in their forever home in order for them to feel safe. If you are interested in a
particular dog whose bio states those needs and do not currently have them, please understand that your home might not be the right fit. Please use the filter on our Adoptable Dogs page to find the perfect match for your home.
