The old saying cute as a button could have been written just for little Button, the 1-year-old Dachshund mixed breed who was rescued from a deplorable hoarding situation to come to Connecticut to find a safe and loving forever home and family.Button weighs just 8 pounds and has a lovely multicolored coat. And just look at her deep dark eyes begging for affection and care. Button is a perfect companion for children and other dogs. It is not known if she is comfortable with cats.Button is working at her house and leash training. Rescue dogs should be expected to have accidents as they become accustomed to a new home, family and routines. If crate training is anticipated, Button requires a crate that lets her lie down, stand up and turn around. Crates should never be used for punishment, should be warm and cozy dens and Button should be able to go in and out as she desires during training. Gaze into her eyes, pick her up and let her snuggle into your lap and Button will know she is safe and warm and loved.* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine.
