We are excited to introduce Coretta, a 2-year-old, 40-pound, spayed female English Bulldog mix who was picked up by Hartford Animal Control and brought to an emergency vet for medical treatment. Coretta has spent the past few weeks with us recovering from surgery and is doing well! She has been an easy girl in her foster home as she is a perfect companion who walks well on leash. She is a little wiggle butt with every new person she meets. Coretta is eager to show you all the love she has in her stocky body.Coretta has not been introduced to cats or young children while in rescue. She has made dog friends in her foster home, but introductions to new dogs should always be done in an intentional and safe manner. Coretta is crate trained and house trained. She is very food motivated and loves treats. Coretta will do best in a home where she can practice the fine art of rest and relaxation with her new family as she is a low energy gal. It is also important to remember that although Coretta is housetrained, accidents can occur while adjusting to a new home environment. She would enjoy daily, light exercise to keep her 40-pound girlish figure but is not a dog who will be your running partner or next sport dog. Her short legs just would not be able to keep up. Her legs also make it difficult for her to manage steps and/or stairs. She will make a wonderful companion for a family looking to give and receive lots of love! Take the next step and apply for Coretta today.* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Coretta is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees.
