This 10-month-old German Shepherd/mixed breed beauty has a lustrous black coat that will make her the envy of the neighborhood. Lillie came into shelter as an owner surrender after living in an outdoors environment with many other dogs. She is very sweet and gentle and is rather shy, so she needs time and attention to warm up to new people and places. Lillie currently weighs 48 pounds, and it is estimated she will be a medium sized dog (31-60 pounds) when she is fully grown. Lillie is quite used to being with and around other dogs and is very comfortable with children. It is not known if Lillie is comfortable with cats.Lillie is working at her house training and leash walking. She loves people so training will go well if it is warm, positive and consistent, giving Lillie plenty of encouraging feedback and some treats. It is important to remember that rescue dogs will have accidents as they transition to a new home. If crate training is planned, Lillie requires a crate in which she can stand up, turn around and lie down comfortably for a nap. Crates must be warm, welcoming places and never used for punishment.
