Blair is one of our smallest, most determined little fighters. She's weighs under a pound as of right now and has already seen both a vet and a neurologist. She came to us after her mama rejected her shortly after birth, and a foster stepped in immediately to give her the care she needed.Blair was born with congenital deformities in all four legs, so she doesn't walk the way most kittens do. Instead, she army‑crawls her way across her space with surprising speed and a whole lot of purpose. Just this week she started pushing herself forward more confidently, which fits her personality perfectly - she's tiny, but she's driven. Her medical picture is still developing. Hydrocephalus has been ruled out, but other possibilities, like cerebellar hypoplasia, can't be confirmed or ruled out at her age. For now, it's a wait‑and‑see situation with more vet visits ahead. What we do know is that she isn't in pain, she's eating well, she's curious, and she absolutely wants to be here.In her foster home, Blair is thriving. She's hand‑fed, monitored closely, and kept comfortable as she grows. She's also showing us just how capable she is. She has used her litter box consistently for the past couple of days. She stretches up on the bars of her enclosure to look around. She's teething and loves chewing on her cardboard litter box. She's quick when she decides she wants something, and she enjoys her little supervised outings outside her cage.Blair isn't ready for adoption yet - she has growing and figuring‑out to do before we know what her long‑term needs will look like. When the time comes, she'll need someone with experience caring for special‑needs cats, or someone patient and prepared to meet her wherever she lands medically. Her future needs could be minimal or more involved; we'll know more as she gets older. For now, she's safe, loved, and proving every day that she's a tiny kitten with a huge amount of heart.Meet Our Fabulous Foster-to-Adopt Kittens! Our young kittens are ready to go home now through our foster‑to‑adopt program. You take them home today, and the adoption is finalized after their spay/neuter surgery. Our rescue requires kittens to be adopted in pairs or into a home that already has a young, friendly cat. Kittens raised alone often struggle with social and behavioral development, while growing up with another cat helps them learn boundaries, burn energy, and become well‑adjusted adults. The adoption fee is $75 for a single cat/kitten and $125 for a pair.If you're ready to bring home a pair of playful kittens-or add one to your friendly resident cat-we'd love to help you find the right match.Apply today at www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to start your foster‑to‑adopt journey!Just a quick note-she's currently in foster care, not at the shelter, so she won't be available for walk-in visits. If you'd like to meet her, we'll need to schedule a meet and greet in advance. Let us know what days work best for you, and we'll be happy to coordinate! If you are interested in adopting this pet, please go to www.midwestpetrefuge.com/adopt to complete an application. Completing a questionnaire on any other website does not submit an application to our rescue, you must complete one on our website. If you have any questions, please email us at
