Toby

Toby is a 14-year-old, 43-pound fluffy sweetheart looking for a calm, loving retirement home. He spent most of his life outside before coming to the shelter, but was able to spend some time in a temporary foster home to recover from surgery for a severe infection.

While this senior pup can't manage stairs, his foster says he has the biggest heart and loves treats and affection. Toby will happily rest his head in your lap and soak up pets. He's looking for an adults-only home, an experienced adopter who understands his age- and pain-related behaviors. He sometimes needs patience with handling, but he responds wonderfully to gentle kindness.

With other dogs, Toby might be persistent for attention. He would do best as a solo pup, or with an appropriately matched canine companion who can respect his style.
