Meet Phoenix, an adorable Shih Tzu/Lhasa Apso male mix.

At 5 years old, Phoenix is being surrendered, through no fault of his own, and is in need of a loving home. He spends much of his time during the day alone, and would absolutely love a home where he can interact with his family, be active, be cuddled, and live his best life. Phoenix is about 21 pounds of cuteness, searching for a committed, loving family.

Phoenix sleeps in a crate with the door open. He is pad trained in the home, but will go outside as well. Also, leash and crate trained. He is up to date on vaccines and he is neutered. Pad training is due to Phoenix being alone up to 13 hours per day. Phoenix has interacted well with other dogs since he came into our care. He does great at our adoption events.

Phoenix prefers a fenced yard to going on a walk. He is not a match for apartment living. Phoenix would thrive in a home that's ready to give lots of love and guidance as he continues to learn to interact with people and other animals, all while providing a family with love. Phoenix would thrive best in a quieter forever home where he can continue to show his wonderful personality and they understand he really does not like to be picked up.

Since there is no history of Phoenix with small children, we recommend a home without children.
