Jax is a 5-year-old German Shepherd/Husky mix with a big heart, playful spirit, and a truly one-of-a-kind look (yes, those are two different colored eyes!). His family is making the difficult decision to rehome him due to changes in their household-particularly the needs of their senior dog, who is no longer able to keep up with Jax's energy. After a long and loving search for a new home, they're now asking for help to find the right match.
Jax is:
Neutered
Potty trained
Good with kids and dogs (but would thrive in a home where he's the only pet)
Friendly with visitors once he's had a moment to settle
Protective of his home-he'll bark to alert you if someone approaches
Jax has lived happily both indoors and outdoors, and loves walks, fetch, and cuddling up with his humans. He's also a bit of a goofball-his favorite pastime? Suckling on stuffed animals while lounging on his bed! He's also a natural in front of the camera and loves striking a pose for photos.
While Jax has previously lived with another dog and young children, his current owner recommends a home without other pets or small kids so he can truly shine and get the one-on-one attention he craves.
A note on behavior: Jax can get excited around new people, especially if they're nervous around dogs. But once he's had a sniff and knows you're a friend, he'll settle right in. He also likes to jump along fences when other animals are nearby-but he's quiet when the neighborhood is.
Jax has been a beloved companion for the past three years, and his family is heartbroken to let him go, but hopeful he'll find a home where he can be cherished and given the attention he deserves.
