Meet Athena — A Gentle Soul Ready for Her Second Chance Hi there, I'm Athena. I'm a 2-year-old Pit mix weighing about 57 pounds, and I'm hoping my forever family is out there waiting to meet me. I was found near Lakeshore in Rockwall and, sadly, no one came looking for me. Now I'm getting the chance to start fresh with a family who will give me the love and stability every dog deserves. I can be a little shy at first in new situations, but with patience and kindness, my sweet personality shines through. Once I feel safe, I'm a gentle, loving girl who truly enjoys being close to my people. I'm looking for a family who understands that building trust takes time and who will help me grow more confident as I adjust to home life. I walk nicely on a leash and, even though I don't appear to have had much formal training before, I'm eager to learn and ready to blossom with guidance and consistency. If you already have a dog at home, a meet and greet is encouraged to make sure we're a good match before heading home together. My adoption fee is $125, which includes my spay surgery, microchip, rabies vaccination, boosters to date, and heartworm test. I am scheduled to return to the facility on Wednesday, February 11th, for my spay surgery and vaccinations. This appointment is non-negotiable, as it is part of my adoption contract and required under Texas state law.
