Barnaby is the sweetest little guy you could ever hope to meet. With his gentle, easygoing nature and loving personality, he's earned the nickname "miniature golden retriever" in his foster home. There truly isn't an aggressive bone in his body - he's a quiet, affectionate snuggle bug with both people and other dogs.Barnaby enjoys short bursts of play, then is perfectly happy curling up on the couch next to any warm body he can find. He's calm, cuddly, and content just being near his people. While he can be a little timid around loud noises, he's not an anxious dog - just a soft-hearted boy who prefers a peaceful environment. He's already making great progress with training and is learning simple commands like "come." He's smart and eager to please, picking things up quickly. Potty training is going wonderfully - as long as he's given the opportunity to go outside, he does, with no accidents or marking indoors.Barnaby would make an excellent companion for just about anyone, including a first-time dog owner. He's truly that easy - sweet, steady, and ready to bring warmth and love into his forever home. This pup was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas.Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
