Miss Puggy is a sweet girl and from day one it's been clear that she is something special. She has the face of a pug and the presence of a tiny English mastiff - complete with adorably enormous paws and a soft, squishy-but-solid build. She feels substantial when she curls into you, like a warm little weighted blanket with a heartbeat. She absolutely loves people. If there's a lap available, she will happily claim it. Snuggling is her love language. She also adores other dogs. She's thoughtful weekend first meeting then, but once she's comfortable, she transforms into a super-playful, joyful little gremlin who truly loves to romp. She came in with another pug and did great, and it's clear she genuinely enjoys having dog friends. She also loves walks and does well on leash, though she's still learning. She's happy exploring the world with you and just as happy coming home to curl up on the couch. What makes her so wonderful is that combination of softness and steadiness. She's affectionate without being frantic. Playful without being overwhelming. She bonds deeply and seems genuinely grateful for comfort and connection. She would thrive in a home that gives her a little patience at the beginning - just enough time to settle in and show you her full, playful, snuggly self. Once she feels safe, she's all in.If you're looking for a loyal companion with giant paws, a squishy body, and a huge heart, she might just be your girl. This pup was rescued from a shelter in New Mexico.Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
