Tootsie is a sweet, lovable ball of puppy energy who's ready to find his forever home! He loves to play, run around in the snow, and happily entertain himself with toys and chews. After playtime, he's just as content to curl up next to you-or right on you-for a cozy nap and can be surprisingly "chill" for a puppy. Tootsie is off to a great start with potty training, with only one accident on his first day in foster care. He's been sleeping in a crate and is doing well, though like most puppies he still needs a nighttime potty break about every four hours (this will improve as he grows). He loves mealtime and is already learning good manners, including sitting patiently before getting his food. He gets along well with other dogs, though he can be a bit shy at first. With continued training, patience, and love, Tootsie is going to grow into an incredible companion. If you're looking for a playful, affectionate puppy and have the time to help him learn and thrive, Tootsie could be the perfect addition to your family! This pup was rescued from a high kill shelter in Texas. Available to meet starting 1/3/2026!Meet and greets are by appointment only. An approved application is required to schedule a meeting. Check out our events page for upcoming open adoption events! We have no additional back story or update for this dog at this time. When we do, it will be updated here. This is all the information we have currently. Approved Applicants may make the adoption fee payment by clicking donate above. Partial adoption fees will not hold a dog. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances.
