Miss Piggy

Miss Piggy is a wiggly, affectionate Pittie who embodies all the best traits of her breed. At about 60 pounds, she's sturdy, energetic, and absolutely devoted to her humans-your space is her space, and she'll happily shower you with love and kisses in exchange. This sweet girl is crate trained, sleeps quietly through the night, and is completely potty trained. She has wonderful house manners and enjoys daily walks, where her playful energy shines. Miss Piggy loves people, loves other dogs, and is a well-socialized, wiggly girl who soaks up affection and gives the gentlest hugs in return. Miss Piggy can be demanding of attention, and will push other dogs out of the way when she wants it. She would do best with a dog that can tolerate her attention seeking behaviors. She's still polishing her manners, so she'll thrive in an active home with confident humans who can provide gentle structure and remind her of the rules. In return, Miss Piggy will give you endless loyalty, joy, and affection. If upon meeting the dog of your choosing at your scheduled pickup time you find that you aren't a good match, your deposit will be fully refunded. Adoption fees include vaccines up until time of adoption, microchip, spay/neuter and 1st 30 days of free pet insurance. We are not affiliated with MetLife pet insurance. (you have to sign up for the insurance or it will not go into effect). Adoption fees help cover the medical care of the animals while he or she waits for a new home, as well as food and transportation costs. These fees help to provide care for the other animals in the shelter or rescue group who may have medical bills that are much higher than any possible adoption fee. The money also acts as a donation to help support the organization as a whole, allowing the group to continue its efforts to rescue and rehome pets. The dogs in our care are fostered in Colorado, Texas, and New Mexico. While all dogs are picked up during our scheduled times, sometimes transport dates change due to unforeseen circumstances. A new study has concluded that (in layman's terms), breed assumption is NOT indicative of behavior in mixed breed dogs. Therefore, if a dog looks presumably to be a German Shepherd breed, one cannot assume the dog will have a high prey drive. From the study: "Although many physical traits were associated with breeds, behavior was much more variable among individual dogs. In general, physical trait heritability was a greater predictor of breed but was not necessarily a predictor of breed ancestry in mutts. Among behavioral traits, biddability-how well dogs respond to human direction-was the most heritable by breed but varied significantly among individual dogs.
