Meet Daring, the little chocolate and white chihuahua! Daring arrived at the Shelter with their 8 other friends. Their previous guardian had too many pups and, despite really great intentions to help, felt a bit overwhelmed caring for them all. At this time, Daring is a bit of a cowardly little girl but we named her Daring to inspire her in her next steps of adoption. Her previous guardian reported that Daring is social with people and other dogs (small and large). A home with a confident, playful dog may be a fit for Daring. Cats may be appropriate with a slow, thoughtful introduction. She enjoyed walking on leash and playing. At the Shelter, we have not necessarily seen that and Daring is generally timid. We anticipate that Daring will start to blossom in a patient, dog-savvy home environment after adoption. If you would like to be a part of a transformation after adoption and have some extra love in your heart to give a dog â consider meeting Daring today. Daring is available for preadoption at this time - come in, fall in love and you can take him home after her spay surgery! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw!Now through February 15th, all adoption fees are reduced to $33 - come to the Shelter today to adopt your very own Valentine! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
