Meet Pearls, the brown tabby cat. Pearls arrived to the Shelter as a stray after being seen around the neighborhood but nobody caring for long term. Staff have observed that this cat is curious to interact and social. Pearls may do well in a home with another cat after a slow, thoughtful introduction. Pearls may do well in an indoor-outdoor home after a period of acclimation to his new home-base. Pearls may be just as happy in a plush, indoor home.Pearls is available for pre-adoption. Come meet him, fall in love and take him home after his neuter surgery! From Friday, May 1st through Sunday May 10th, the Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter is participating in Empty the Shelters. The adoption fee is reduced to $50 for all cats, dogs and rabbits in our care. Empty the Shelters is the nationâs largest funded adoption event centered around helping homeless pets find families by making adoption affordable for prospective pet owners. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
