Meet Whinnie, the senior kitty! Whinnie arrived to the Shelter after her guardian was unable to continue caring for her due to allergies. She had previously been indoors and lived with other cats and dogs. She also has lived with children. Her favorite activity is sunbathing and her favorite toys are wand style toys. Whinnie can be a little shy but warms up with time. Although she was outdoors most recently due to her guardianâs allergies, she previously was indoors and used her litterbox reliably. Due to her age, we are recommending Whinnie stay indoors in her next home, although she may enjoy some safe enrichment outdoors in a catio set up. We anticipate that Whinnie would do best in a quieter home that will help her transition into the new space.Being a senior cat, Whinnie will need more frequent vet visits to ensure she stays in tip top shape. Our clinic team also observed that Whinnie has a heart murmur. The clinic staff are happy to discuss medical findings further with any potential adopters. Whinnie's adoption fee is sponsored thanks to a good samaritan! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
