Meet Vinny, the mixed breed. Vinny arrived to the Shelter as a stray so we do not know much about his life before the Shelter. Vinny is described as a big, goofy boy. He has been eager for attention â pulling on leash, jumping up and just excited to be alive! He has been tolerant of handling but does not really sit still.. more of a busy body. Vinny has been ball and toy oriented. He has met dogs at the Shelter and is eager to play - sometimes a little TOO eager... A home with another energetic, playful dog may be a fit after a meet ân greet at the Shelter, recognizing that other dogs may do some `correcting` of Vinny's overly-rambunctious play style as they get to know one another and some boundaries are set. The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw!Now through February 15th, all adoption fees are reduced to $33 - come to the Shelter today to adopt your very own Valentine! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
