Meet Pepito (lynx point Siamese) & Nopalito (brown tabby), the bonded pair of boys. These boys came to the Shelter as strays after a good Samaritan found them hanging out outside a store in Watsonville. Although initially reserved, they started to let their walls down within 48 hours of arrival to the Shelter. Nopalito is the more outgoing of the two â giving elevator butt when getting scritches and purring loudly. Pepito is a bit more shy and relies on his brother for support. We anticipate these boys will continue to show their true colors after adoption and their transition to the adoptive home. Adopters should be patient in the transition and take things slow. A home with other animals may be appropriate with a slow, thoughtful introduction. Pepito and Nopalito may do well in an indoor-outdoor home after a period of acclimation to their new space. They may also be just as happy to be indoors with their people moving forward. Pepito & Nopalito, being bonded, do need to be adopted together. Their adoption fee is 2 for 1. They are currently available for pre-adoption: come meet them, fall in love, and take them home after their neuter surgeries. Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
