RALLY*

Meet Rally, the border collie! Rally arrived to the Shelter as a stray so we do not know much about his life before the Shelter. Since his arrival, staff have observed that Rally is friendly, affiliative and loves to play fetch. He has interacted with other dogs and participated in some intense sniffing but disengaged. A home with another dog may be a fit after a meet ‘n greet at the Shelter. Did we mention Rally loves balls? Well, that’ll be a great way for an adopter to build a bond, exercise and work with Rally on positive reinforcement. Treats are cool too but balls may trump treats in Rally’s mind. Rally would thrive with an active adopter that will include him in on the fun and adventures of life. Rally is available for preadoption at this time – come in, fall in love and you can take him home after his neuter surgery!The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering “Pawsitivity Bucks” with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw!Now through February 15th, all adoption fees are reduced to $33 - come to the Shelter today to adopt your very own Valentine!Please note: Our Santa Cruz location’s Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end “meet and greets” (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If you’d like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
