Meet Don Ricardo, the little chihuahua! Don is a small chihuahua who sometimes has big feelings about situations. Some examples of these situations are when someone forcibly moves him from a spot where he is resting or doesnât read his body language when he is uncomfortable. Don would thrive in a dog savvy home that will give him the space to settle in and support him in the day to day with mental and physical enrichment. Don may enjoy a canine friend in his adoptive home after a meet ân greet at the Shelter. We donât have any history of Don with felines. Due to Donâs sensitive nature, a home free of children is recommended. Don Ricardo's adoption fee is sponsored by a good samaritan! The Santa Cruz County Animal Shelter Foundation is now offering âPawsitivity Bucksâ with every dog adoption. This $200 training voucher is a way for newly adopted canines and their guardians to connect with local positive reinforcement based behavior consultants and get their relationship started off on the right paw! Please note: Our Santa Cruz locationâs Shelter hours are 11-6pm, 7 days a week! Although clients can walk through and see any animals in their kennels during open hours, we end âmeet and greetsâ (aka meeting an animal out of the kennel) at 4:30pm every day. If youâd like to meet an animal out of the kennel, please arrive before 4:00pm to allow for time to discuss individual animals and meet them.
