What WeRescue Scout knows about Xerxes

This 7-year-old brown tabby needs an owner willing to provide monitoring for FIV and aware that the condition requires ongoing care, though cats with FIV can live normal, quality lives. A home where this cat can be a sole feline, or one with other spayed/neutered cats if they have a compatible temperament, works best.

  • Should not cohabitate with unneutered/unspayed cats due to bite-wound transmission risk

Shelter

We are a 501c3, non-profit, all volunteer animal rescue and welfare organization. We are dedicated to ending the explosion of homeless pets in this area; through low cost (sometimes no cost) spay/neuter, public education/awareness, rescue/adoption and support for feral/stray cats and their caregivers. We do this because there is an epidemic of abused, neglected, abandoned animals throughout Central Ohio. As a compassionate organization we are striving to end this suffering for them. Get them medical care, food and if necessary, a new home.

Address 2740 Festival Center Lane, Dublin, oh 43017
Service Areas Central Ohio
Adoption Process
We have an application that requires the potential adopter to wait until their application can be verified. Once everything checks out the adopter comes and picks up their new fur member of the family and signs a contract. One of the highlights of our contract states that if for ANY reason at ANY time they cannot care for the animal, they must return the cat or dog back to Colony Cats (& dogs). Our adoption fees are $100 for kittens (4 months and younger), $85 for kittens 5 or 6 months, $75 for adult cats, $50 for Wise Whiskers (7 years and older). We often have adoption specials where the adoption fees are lowered. The adoption fee includes the animals already being spayed/neutered, Feline Leukemia and FIV tested (cats), heartworm tested (dogs), all vaccinations (FVRCP and DHLPP), rabies vaccine (if kittens or puppies adopted are not old enough to have received a rabies vaccine, then the new owner will need to go to their vet to get this done), microchip, flea/tick/heartworm preventative.
