Tucker - Chocolate Male, 5 years, 83 lbs.
When people first encounter Tucker they presume that he is just a normal chocolate labrador retriever. What they discover after spending some time with him is that he is anything but ordinary. He didn't become known as "the most interesting dog in the world", by chance. Stories of his uniqueness abound, and his adventures could fill a book. For example, it has been said that he doesn't always have chicken with his kibble, but when he does, it is always organic.
It is rumored that he worked for one of the government organizations with three letters but that has never been confirmed. At some point, he somehow escaped confinement from the wilds of the western San Joaquin valley with the help of an agent of the clandestine group known only as the LRRF. Since then, he has been in hiding deep in the Sierra Nevada mountains in an undisclosed location.
Tucker is wise beyond his years, but he still retains his puppy energy. He is a very trim and fit 83 pounds and is proficient at chasing all kinds of animals like squirrels and lizards. He is not great at catching them, however. He is an avid birder and often alerts in the classic labrador pointing posture.
Tucker gets along great with children and other dogs, but it is unknown how well he likes cats. Like most labs, he is a ball and fetch fanatic. He loves food, treats, and toys. He sleeps well all night but has been known to wake up the house when there is an intruder nearby. Tucker would enjoy having a canine companion at his forever home. He loves being outside where he can explore and fill his curious mind with a variety of sights and sounds. He also enjoys riding in the car to get to his next adventure.
He has spent time in a crate, but it is not his favorite place, he prefers a soft dog bed near his people. Of course, he is potty trained and never has "accidents". He does fine on a leash but could use some additional training. When greeting strangers, he is sociable and does not jump on humans. He knows many commands and is quite responsive to come, sit, stay, shake, and lay down.
Tucker is a very sweet, friendly, and energetic labrador that loves life. He will make a wonderful addition to any family. If you are ready to welcome this special boy into your life, please complete an adoption application at www.labrescuefresno.org and specify Tucker as the dog you want to meet.
