Coral is a shy, soft-hearted cat who has been learning how to trust the world again. Surrendered to the shelter in the summer of 2025, she joined the Fraidy Cat/Feline Right at Home program, where very frightened cats get the time and space they need to feel safe. Since moving into foster care that September, sheâs made steady, heartwarming progressâgraduating from hiding under the bed to exploring rooms, watching the world from windows, playing with toys, and even brushing lightly against her foster humans when sheâs feeling brave. She isnât ready for pets yet, but she will gently take treats from your fingers if you move slowly and kindly. Coral is curious about other cats and lived with a sister, though sheâs easily overwhelmed by very active or assertive companions. A calm feline friend could be a comfort; dogs, however, are too stressful for her.Coral is currently on a prescription diet to help with stomach issues related to hairballs, and sheâs responding well. As she continues to build trust and eventually allows brushing, this should improve even more. What Coral needs most is a quiet home and a patient person who understands that love can grow slowlyâand beautifully. With the right human by her side, she has every chance to blossom into a deeply devoted companion.
